Webinar – How to work with virtual volunteers

Novembre 30, 2017, 10:00 - 11:15 AM

Hosted by the Volunteer Management Professionals of Canada (VMPC) www.vmpc.ca

The demand for flexible and remote work options has now expanded to volunteering. While virtual volunteering presents new opportunities for engaging skilled talent (regardless of location), non-profits need to set rules in place to ensure remote volunteering is successful and beneficial to their organizations.

This session will outline how to select volunteers who are suited to virtual volunteering. Participants will learn how to successfully manage projects with remote volunteers. The webinar will also provide examples of communications tools that best support remote team projects.

Webinar attendees will also be supplied with practical worksheets for assessing volunteers’ comfort with technology, as well as project outlines to keep remote team members on track.

Presented by: Temi Adewumi, TAGb Consulting

Temi Adewumi has worked with non-profits over the last 15 years in every area of communications from producing newsletters to designing websites. Currently she is Principal of TAGb Consulting, which provides digital skills training that helps non-profit organizations communicate more effectively with members, volunteers, donors, and other stakeholders in the non-profit sector.

Many of the short and long-term projects she worked on over her career have involved working with remote or virtual volunteers. This experience has given her insight on how to select the right person for a virtual role and the tools that work best when collaborating with volunteers working virtually. She plans to share her top tips, tools and techniques to maximize these opportunities!
