 5 years and older reported volunteering, either formally as part of an o
 rganization or\ninformally, on their own without the involvement of a gr
 oup, helping extended family, friends,\nneighbours and strangers. Altoge
 ther, 24 million people contributed to improving the health, well-\nbein
 g, education and safety of Canadians and enhancing Canadian communities.

 sed on data from the 2018 General\nSocial Survey on Giving, Volunteering
