Behind the Screen: a webinar about leading webinars

Août 22, 2018, 10:00 - 11:00 AM

Hosted by the Volunteer Management Professionals of Canada (VMPC) www.vmpc.ca

Presented by: Lindsay Baker, CVA, Chair of Professional Development for VMPC

Lindsay has had the opportunity to organize, facilitate and host a number of webinars over the past two years as VMPC’s Chair of Professional Development. Before she joined the board, she had barely ever even participated in a webinar! Since she challenged herself to learn the GotoWebinar platform, she realized it is not as hard or daunting as it seemed at first.

Incorporating online learning or virtual meetings into your volunteer management program is quickly becoming an expectation of our increasingly busy and tech-savvy volunteers. Figuring out what platform to use, how to set it up, as well as how to modify your delivery to the webinar format can seem like a time-intensive undertaking. So Lindsay is offering a webinar about webinars so that she can share what she’s learned over the past few years to make it easy for you to give it a try.

In this session, you will get a step-by-step outline to guide you through the process of setting up a webinar, the chance to tour the administrative side of the GotoWebinar platform and learn more about its features, and the opportunity to hear Lindsay’s top tips for making webinars interactive and engaging.

Lindsay Baker has been leading volunteer teams professionally for nearly twenty years. She is currently the Manager of Volunteer Services for the Ocean Wise Conservation Association at the Vancouver Aquarium. Lindsay holds a Bachelor's of Arts in English Literature, a diploma in Public Relations and is certified in volunteer administration (CVA). Most recently, she completed Co-Active Coach Training and was the 2017 recipient of the Impact Award for Exemplary Leadership of Volunteers awarded by AVRBC.
