VMPC Virtual Book Club – Dare to Lead by Brené Brown

affiché le 10:31 AM, Janvier 16, 2019

Hosted by the Volunteer Management Professionals of Canada (VMPC)

Join VMPC President, Ruth Millard and Lindsay Baker, Chair of Professional Development, for our very first online book club meeting! We are reading Dare to Lead by Brené Brown.

Brené Brown, PhD, is research professor at the University of Houston who specializes in shame, vulnerability, courage, and empathy. In addition to this, she is the author of five New York Times bestsellers, including Dare to Lead. Her TED talk on the Power of Vulnerability is one of the 10 most-popular TED talks of all-time.

In this book, she is sharing the results of her 7 years of research on brave leadership and providing us with four skill sets we can hone to help us develop the potential in others. In this session, we will be outlining those skills and sharing our key insights and take-aways from the book. You will also have the opportunity to participate in discussions with others on the call and explore how we can apply our learning to our own leadership practices.

You may buy or borrow the book and read it in advance of this session. Alternatively, you can join us to learn more about the book and discover why you should read it in the future.
