The VMPC National Forum is a virtual gathering of volunteer management professionals from across Canada. This year’s theme, “Rooted In: Foundations of Volunteer Engagement,” invites us to reflect on the principles, practices, and professional pathways that ground our work — and to grow together toward the future of the sector.
Whether you're new to the field or a seasoned leader, the Forum offers rich opportunities to connect, learn, and lead with purpose.
This year’s agenda includes:
- Opportunities for Connection: Network with peers and build your national support system
- CCVI Listening Session: Contribute to the future of certification and standards
- Breakout Sessions (3): Explore sector trends, challenges, and innovations
- Dialogue & Discussion: Share ideas, experiences, and peer wisdom
- VMPC Resource Tour: Unlock practical tools to support your practice
- Panel Discussion: Career Advancement Through VMPC
- Keynote Session: Beyond the Role: Visibility, Voice, and Vision in Volunteer Engagement
Our keynote, “Beyond the Role: Visibility, Voice, and Vision in Volunteer Engagement” is a call to take charge of one’s own development, be seen, and step into leadership to shape the long-term impact of the profession. Presented by Megan Vixie, MPA, CVA, PHR, SHRM-CP, CEC.
Megan Vixie is a respected and collaborative executive with 15+ years of leadership experience utilizing human resource strategy to execute the strategic direction of organizations, which includes leveraging volunteers as a strategy to achieve an organization's mission. She serves as the Chief Engagement Officer for Beach Cities Health District (BCHD), one of the largest preventive health agencies in the U.S. and heads up her own leadership coaching and consulting business, Arrive Circa Now. She has served as President of the Association for Leaders in Volunteer Engagement (AL!VE) and serves as a facilitator for its Service Enterprise accreditation process.
