VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT

The Volunteer Engagement Committee provides administrative and coordination support to the Board Chair responsible for Volunteer Engagement. This role helps ensure volunteer programs run smoothly by assisting with documentation, scheduling, communication, and volunteer data management. The volunteer works closely with board leadership and plays a key role in strengthening volunteer engagement systems and processes.

ABIDE COMMITTEE

The ABIDE Committee supports VMPC’s commitment to ensuring its practices, policies, and priorities reflect the diverse communities it serves. Committee members help embed Accessibility, Belonging, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (ABIDE) into all VMPC endeavours, advising and collaborating with the VMPC Board to strengthen inclusive leadership within the organization and promote it as a priority in the volunteer engagement profession.

CONFERENCE & SPECIAL EVENTS

Help us ensure the success of our national conferences for volunteer management professionals. Reach out to Karin at conference@vmpc.ca to learn more and express interest.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership Research — assist the membership team by working independently to research organizations with volunteer programs. This information will be valuable to the team as they embark on sector specific membership recruitment campaigns.

Regional Committees — Join one of our regional committees in either BC or Manitoba. Work with local members to organize local events, professional development, and networking opportunities for VMPC members in your province.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Professional Development Committee – advise on professional development topics, organize webinar presenters, host hot topic discussions, and act as webinar moderators or hosts. 

We are inviting new members to join our Professional Development Committee. Some of the tasks  include:

  • Identifying trends to brainstorm webinar topics

  • Suggesting interesting topics in Volunteer Management

  • Suggesting speakers and consultants/contacts to deliver sessions

  • Any other tasks as identified by the group

  • Meeting once  month or as needed
