Volunteer Positions at VMPC

Do you want to get more involved as a VMPC Member? VMPC Members wishing to take action can support growth and development for VMPC and the volunteer management profession across Canada. Here's how!

 

CURRENT BOARD & LEAD ROLE OPENINGS

Our next virtual VMPC Annual General Meeting is scheduled for June 15th and we are looking to add two people to our board of directors to help us shape the future of VMPC and continue our mission to advance and strengthen the profession of volunteer resources management.

The roles available are:

Joining the Board of Directors can be a wonderful way to gain national exposure and build your skill sets while strengthening your professional credibility. You can give back to your community and earn continuing education credits (PDU) for CVA re-certification. There are so many reasons to take action and get involved!

We are also seeking Fundraising & Partnerships Lead who will report to the Treasurer.

ADVOCACY

The Self Advocacy Lead is responsible for supporting and promoting VMPC's member self advocacy efforts. (Full details, click here).

The Volunteerism Lead is responsible for supporting and promoting VMPC's member Volunteerism efforts - helping volunteer managers advocate for volunteers and volunteering - to elevate and advance volunteerism locally. (Full details, click here).

The Professional Standards and Recognition Lead is responsible for supporting and promoting VMPC's member Professional Standards and Recognition efforts. (Full details, click here).

CONFERENCE & SPECIAL EVENTS

2023 National Forum Committee — join the planning committee for the 2023 national forum to be held virtually in Spring 2023. Assistance is needed with programming, marketing, logistics, registration, and finance. Reach out to Lexi at conference@vmpc.ca to learn more and express interest.

 

MEMBERSHIP

Membership Research — assist the membership team by working independently to research organizations with volunteer programs. This information will be valuable to the team as they embark on sector specific membership recruitment campaigns.

Regional Committees — Join one of our regional committees in either BC or Manitoba. Work with local members to organize local events, professional development, and networking opportunities for VMPC members in your province.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Professional Development Committee – advise on professional development topics, organize webinar presenters, host hot topic discussions, and act as webinar moderators or hosts. 

We are inviting new members to join our Professional Development Committee. Some of the tasks  include:

  • Identifying trends to brainstorm webinar topics

  • Suggesting interesting topics in Volunteer Management

  • Suggesting speakers and consultants/contacts to deliver sessions

  • Any other tasks as identified by the group

  • Meeting once  month or as needed

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Board of Directors — we love to speak with individuals interested in joining the board of VMPC either in the near or distant future. Contact Lindsay at pastpresident@vmpc.ca to book an exploratory conversation to learn more. Active recruitment for the next board year begins in the spring.
